Theft Development

The latest on the matter of content theft and infringement on my copyright.

I did send a Facebook message to… did this prior my putting up the theft post yesterday and immediately after. I saw a reply today. Apologies, which were not only flimsy and dishonest, but definitely too late. The harm had been done!

Well, the bottomline is that all pages with my story TAKE ME AS I AM have been removed. I did not quickly know how to report this to Facebook and I believe he/she got away lightly. But there are still other stories by Nairaland writers on the page and I advice writers who post their work there to go check it out and maybe one of us can really make him pay.

thief Amebor Gist a common thief. Taking without Permission is Stealing!!!

You are a common thief if you use a copyrighted work without permission… whether or not you list the owner’s name.

That is how I see it. And that is why I clearly state in my copyright messages – do not use without prior permission from TM David-West.

AMEBOR GIST is in my opinion a petty thief.

Wisdom nugget – 42

wish n work

The reason some (people) do not succeed

is because their wishbone is where

their backbone ought to be.

Moral — *this actually cracked me up, I must confess and the moral is quite easy to fathom* Don’t wish for success, WORK to succeed.

Making Plans

I have been absent for about a week now. It was on purpose.

Winston Churchill said: He who fails to plan is planning to fail.

I found myself thinking along those lines in the past week. Mostly thinking about it with regards to my writing and what are my desires and ‘plans‘ for it.

I love to write. More than writing, I love to think up story lines and to see them take life in my mind’s eye. It is my greatest pleasure sitting in a place and seeing events unfold before my eyes without no one else seeing them. Hearing conversations in my head no one else can hear… not looney conversations, mind you, lol.

Slotting People

For better, For worse

slot peep

It is odd how many times we meet people and we easily label them by their physical appearance, speech pattern and their demeanour. Sometimes, we don’t even wait for them to speak before we fit them into the right slot and leave them there without a backward glance.

Just a side glance and we decide who is worth our time and who isn’t.

I have been guilty of this… severally. On occasions, I’ve rued my hasty judgements.

Malcolm Forbes said: “You can easily judge the character of others by how they treat those who can do nothing for them or to them.”

While we are chewing on that, let us read this little story I culled from…

A lady in a faded gingham dress and her husband, dressed in a homespun threadbare suit, stepped off the train in Boston, and walked timidly without an appointment into the President of Harvard’s outer office.

The secretary could tell in a moment that such backwoods , country hicks had no business at Harvard and probably didn’t deserve to be in Cambridge. She frowned.

“We want to see the President.” The man said softly.
